#96: Building a Matter-of-fact Grounding for Constructive Debate

Sherman Tylawsky

In this day and age of convoluted politics, news, and technology, perhaps we can relate to Sergeant Joe Friday from the TV show Dragnet. If he had to sift through the overwhelming information on the Internet, he too might say:"Give us the facts, ma'am."

Poppy MacDonald is President of USAFacts, a civic organization founded by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and dedicated to the collection and dissemination of open source facts for the betterment of civil debate. She shares the significance and ongoing journey of innovating new ways to make government data more available for millions of Americans across the country.
